Gorgeous venue, rooms to die for, amazing food, amazing staff, fantastic service, brilliant value for money for both accommodation and dining, couldnt ask for more and best thing for me is that it's right on the doorstep!
I booked this place last minute with minimal knowledge just knowing the location is close to a family member i'm visiting to unfortunately isn't well. Me and my daughter checked in about 8;30pm which was all pretty easy, we had no expectations we was just happy for a cost effective place to sleep while we visit. We was pleasantly surprised with our room, I assume our room (Tucana) is their budget room due to the price, it was very cute, comfortable, well kept and way more than expected (bed is really comfortable). We just had breakfast which was lovely very filling, we had a full english, the only thing i would say, is turn over the breakfast menu as there is more option on the back, we excitedly booked without noticing lol. The lady at breakfast was very attentive as was the young man. The whole property is lovely, with good parking. I will ensure to only stay here when visiting this side of the country now, as we are really happy, so happy im writting this review from my comfy bed, while procrastinating about checking out soon. thank you for a lovely stay x
What a gorgeous little place to stay ⭐ The Sunday lunch was absolutely to die for and the staff were the sweetest, so friendly and welcoming. We stayed in Aquila and had the loveliest, most peaceful and relaxing time Can’t wait to come back!
I never leave reviews but I must admit the thomas wright house food is one of the best places ive ate at. We been again tonight for the winter menu and the food did not disappoint, lovely friendly staff, great service , lovely main course and the sweet was amazing all washed down with a couple of drinks. Another great night with great friends and excellent food 10/10 cannot wait for our next visit
Wow, what an amazing stay, we stopped in the Phoenix room absolutely amazing. Staff unbelievable could do enough to help.My wife is vegan the staff went above and beyond helping with regards to checking what she could or couldn't have to eat.Food was amazing and the portion size massive. Definitely be back.
Only ate here. The food was really nice. I enjoyed the blue cheese fondue starter. It was very flavourful. The portion sizes are great. Would recommend.
A little Gem hidden in Co Durham. Dog friendly, well maintained property popular with locals and return visitors. The staff are all super friendly and helpful. Breakfast is amazing and freshly cooked to order. Sets you up for the day ahead. Looking forward to returning in the future.
What a gem of a place this is. We booked last minute for a quiet break away and couldn't have been happier. Excellent location, only 20 minutes drive to Durham park and ride. Fantastic rooms and an exceptional breakfast. I have some very strict dietary requirements and these were no issues whatsoever. The breakfast she is absolutely top class! Both her and the server made our stay! We will be back.
